Community Based English as a Second Language, Stevenson College provides courses for men and women living permanently in Edinburgh and the Lothians who want to learn or improve their English. Skillnet Edinburgh empowers black/minority ethnic people in Edinburgh and Lothians so that they can access education, training and sustainable employment. Women Onto Work courses are open to women over aged 21, who have been out of work for over a six months. We run courses for women living in South Edinburgh, Craigmillar, Wester Hailes, Pilton, Restalrig, Leith, citywide for women black and minority ethnic women. We help women explore options in paid work, further education, training and volunteering. We offer careers guidance, assertiveness training, confidence building, interview preparation, applications and CV skills, as well as a nine-day work placement.
